Katie Allison
Katie Allison was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and dove heavily into dance at West where she participated in the Dance West program under Lori Bradford, both as a dancer and a choreographer, for the entirety of her high school experience. She later returned as a choreographer for the 2015/2016 shows, and again for the winter show in 2021. Following high school, she trained under Brian Jeffery at UAA in Modern/Contemporary and Improvisation, while also teaching an ongoing hip hop class at Studio Pulse during that time.
In 2016, Katie moved to Portland, Oregon to continue her education at Portland State University, receiving her Bachelors degree in Business Marketing and a minor in Dance. During her time in Portland, she trained in contemporary, modern, improvisation, various street styles, and hip hop while dancing with two semi-professional dance companies which provided intentional opportunities to fine-tune her movement style and quality.
Throughout her dance career, there have been many opportunities to perform in shows and events, as well as many video-based productions which have really shaped who she is as a dancer and choreographer. Katie is excited to join Momentum Dance Collective in their 15th year, after a 2 year break from dance, and continue to learn and grow as an artist.
