Momentum dancers hit the stage, after what seems an infinitely long wait, and YOU are invited to join the party. What is it like to gather with our friends after years of social distancing? This full length dance show (disguised as a dance party) explores the mixed emotion that comes from social gatherings with relatable humor and expressive artistry. Using bold and athletic movement mixed with tender moments of connection and partnership, Momentum’s 12 company dancers pose the questions we all face after two years in a global pandemic. How do we feel about gathering again? Navigating a crowd? How much space is considered personal space? How do we relate to others when we’ve been mostly on our own? Were parties always this awkward? 

Vacillating between the yearning to be close and the desire for space, the dancers find ways of expressing the idiosyncratic and often ambivalent feelings that we have about being with others. Bring your party hats or your party skepticism. We have both in spades.
