Erica Ruston
Erica was born in Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Wellington, Florida. She began her dance journey as a child, attending Dance Arts Conservatory throughout most of her childhood. She later went on to dance for both the local Middle School and High School dance teams and company in Florida. The High School dance team competed at both State and National dance competitions, and they had the opportunity to perform at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. She moved back to Alaska during her Junior year of High School and danced with the West High Dance department where she had the opportunity to create a piece for one of the bi-annual performances.
Erica attended college at the University of Alaska Anchorage where she majored in Environment and Society with a minor in Dance. During her time with the UAA Dance department she became a part of the Dance Ensemble, participated in dance films, took classes from numerous guest artists, and choreographed a couple of pieces for the New Dances performances. She became a member of the dance company Sunlight Collaboration in 2019, where she participated as both a dancer and choreographer for their summer shows. Erica has also been training at Cathedral Pole & Dance, where she has been pursuing pole technique and heels. Outside of dance, Erica works as a Pre-K teacher at a Forest School, and enjoys adventuring around AK with her dog and friends. She is very excited to be starting her first year with Momentum Dance Collective!
